Moi - Scraptastic Kits

Hi again! I created another 8x8 page and let me tell you, I am definitely sticking to this new size. It's so fun in this size!

Janet Perafan-Babar | Scraptastic Kit Club April 2014 Kit; 8x8 layouts; #scrapbook #layout #averyelle #scrapbooking8x8

Everything I used was from the Scraptastic Kits April add-on and bits from the Main Kit. I also used the negative strip die cut from Avery Elle Chevron Die.

DESIGN INSPIRATION:

An awesome sketch by Susan Stringfellow. She designed for me at Color Combos Galore and is now with Scraptastic Kit Club designing pages and sketches. I loved this one, with all it's fun layers. There's a new issue at Paper Issues. It's Mum's the Word so I chose to play on the word MOM. It's a photo of me that my daughter took a few years ago while we were having lunch at the mall. Mind you, I do not normally walk around or eat lunch at the mall with glasses on, lol. She asked me to put them on, then she snapped the picture. I wanted to document this photo of me, the young Mom she captured. It's also a great photo for the Glasses Challenge at A Cherry On Top.

I made a super gorgeous Color Combo based on this layout. Please feel free to click on THIS POST If you'd like to download or Pin It.

Hugs and Happy Scrappin'!!!!

xoxo

Color Combo Inspiration {04.30.14}

Guess what I have busting out of my pockets? More Color Combos! Who doesn't love pretty color combos? You can never too much color inspiration, right? -- xx Janet

Color Inspiration by Janet Perafan-Babar | Color Combo / Color Scheme: peach, cream, coral, gray; http://janetperafanbabar.blogspot.com/

peach - cream - coral - gray

BASED ON MY COLOR SCHEME FOR THE LAYOUT ON THIS BLOG POST:
Moi - Scraptastic Kits
Blogged on: 04.30.2014

On the Color Combos Galore site, we start off with both the color combo and inspiration photo then we create a project to encourage you to try the colors out. What if I create a project, then create the Color Combo based on the colors used in the project? It's great to see a cool and trendy color combo on a layout, but wouldn't it be better to see that adoring color combo in a large, clear graphic that you can pin onto your Pinterest Boards or even print out? So I thought, create a layout as I would normally, then design a Color Combo (and attach a pretty Pinterest photo too) based on the color scheme of my project. So besides the ones I offer at the Color Combos Galore challenge site, you will get a second dose of Color Combos from yours truly, right here, just to inspire you.

Sounds like fun? I think it is, but I need to know what you think. I need your feedback, do you love a pretty color combo and would you like me to make some?  :)  :)  :)

You Are - Simon Says Stamp!

Hello friends! I'm sharing a card I made combining the April Card Challenge at A Cherry on Top with the current Fusion Chevron and Simon Says Stamp! Clean and Simple challenges. They are showcasing Hero Arts products this week, so I mixed it in with their April Card Kit:

Sunday

You Are My Sunshine - Studio Calico

Good Morning! Last night I played with Seize the Sketch and the Build a Background Challenge at A Blog Named Hero. The designers are using Lawn Fawn this month, so I decided to do the same for my challenge entry:
card by Janet Perafan-Babar | Studio Calico
I used the Interlocking Backgrounds stamp inked in Green Hills Shadow Ink, Studio Calico Office Hours March Card Kit and a Hero Arts/Studio Calico stamp for the sentiment.

I'm liking the cleaner lines of my cards lately, so this was a great sketch to work with. I am also participating at A Cherry On Top's April Pinterest Challenge with this pin that I had liked for using with the background stamp.

DESIGN INSPIRATION:

Isn't that pillow great? I am still saving it for a Color Combos Galore Challenge down the road. Thanx so much for stopping by today. Hope you have a wonderful Sunday!

Hugs and Happy Scrappin'!!!!

Wednesday

Christmas in the Spring

Hello Wednesday! Today I am sharing a card with combined challenges. My main incentive was a challenge site I found for making Christmas cards throughout the year. This is a fantastic idea because who wants to be rushing to make them in the midst of the holiday chaos? I found a couple of sites to play along with, so hopefully I can get more done. Here is mine for Festive Friday:
card by Janet Perafan-Babar
I used only Papertrey Ink dies and stamps. I am playing with CAS(e) this Sketch. I really tried to keep it CAS - There is no patterned paper, plenty of white space, minimal embellishments. Although I love the style, I'm not used it, so I hope it qualifies. For the Festive Friday challenge I stamped the pinecone images, brought in the colors, and used vellum as a transparent element (glass). For the Paper Players challenge, my set of three were the pinecones and also the gems:

Tuesday

Capture - Citrus Twist Kits

Happy Tuesday! This was supposed to be a "Happy Monday!" post, but life was pulling me in all directions yesterday. Today I am excited to share my very first 8x8 layout! What? YES! I have been admiring Kasia Tomaszewska and her 8x8 pages, so I decided to try it out and you know, I TOTALLY LIKE! However, I was a little freaked out after I cut my base because I realized how small 8x8 really is. But the smaller canvas gives a quicker completion time and that, my friends, is good for me! Here is the page I made with Citrus Twist Kits and their Sunday Sketch. I took this photo of Zayn and Rianna really quick on my iPhone (all the while trying not to get noticed). What I got was a blurry, overexposed photo. But nevertheless, I had to record this moment:

Janet Perafan-Babar | Citrus Twist Kits March 2014 Kit; 8x8 layouts; Spinning Tops Stencil; #citrustwistkits #papertreyink #scrapbooking8x8

This kit was full of deliciousness, once again! I used Wanderlust paper and vellum stickers, Lemonlush ephemera pieces and some Citrus Twist wood veneer. The larger heart was cut from Dear Lizzy paper. I also used Papertrey Ink dies, Huey Mists and a stencil that was inked with Prima chalks:

Daily Flash and Boys Rule paper, exclusive Citrus Twist stamps and washi tape:

DESIGN INSPIRATION:

Citrus Twist Sunday Sketch

Two Peas Moodboard

I added six new stencils to my templates stash last month and would you believe this was my first time using one? OMG, what I have been missing, FUN STUFF! Did you know that Moxie Fab World is having a stencils challenge and that besides cards, they also accept layouts? So for all you stencil experts, novices like me, and all those in between, go play! Challenge ends April 11.

So what do you think of this size? Would you try it out? I hope you do, I really enjoyed it and it was fun to experiment. Thanks so much for stopping by, hope your day turns out fabulous!

Hugs and Happy Scrappin'!!!!
