{ Color Combos Galore: Challenge #231 }
{ The Craft's Meow: February Sketch }
Mmmmm, last week's Color Combo Challenge. Couldn't play in time, but the colors were DEEEE-VINE!

Color and Inspiration...

The CCG Designer's Challenge: From the four photos, I chose Inspiration Photo #1 - Focus On Accents: Cabochons. In addition to that, I chose the Prima journaling card and TCM stamps because they had flourishes and scrolls in them (prompt: More Inspiration Ideas). I started the card by using a fancy punch around the border (prompt: Inspiration Photo #4/More Inspiration Ideas). I thought of recreating the ruffled flowers (Inspiration Photo #3) using my scallop punches and painting the edges white. With a chalk pencil, I shaded the flower petals to achieve a more coral color. The sentiment is also from the stamp set, and was inked in a coral color, chalked for a softer tone, and dotted with a paper pen.
February Sketch @ The Craft's Meow

- The Sketch Interpretation
- First, I rotated the sketch, and mirrored it
- For the "two banner strips", I used two double-ended banner strips and tilted it
- Replaced the "ribbon" with a handmade flower
Pretty straight forward sketch. You'd think the design would be quick. NOT. I'm too indecisive and fiddle around way too much. I used Prima Songbird (thanks, Fi, for thinking of that range), then a quick flip through my 6x6 pads to find Bazzill Wayfarer with these colors in them. Playing along with the Tuesday Throwdown theme of Thinking of You and the TCM sketch, I chose their stamp set:

This CCG Color Combo Challenge is over, but I would love for you to stop by to Kelly Holbrook's and Jinny Newlin's blog. Get a closer look at their designs with this Color Combo!
As always, thanks for stopping by and....
Happy Scrappin', Loves!
